UOB Malaysia and Uni.Asia Life Complete Suite of Bancassurance Solutions for Customers

Kuala Lumpur : After three years of hard work, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) in partnership with Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad (Uni.Asia Life), has today successfully established UOB Malaysia as a provider of total wealth management solutions with the introduction of a series of investment-linked insurance products.

Services from UOB Malaysia now ranges from wealth creation, wealth accumulation, wealth protection to wealth distribution services.

Chan Kok Seong, Chief Executive Officer of UOB Malaysia said, “With our latest launch of MAXGain, MAXIncome and MAXLink, our customers now have the flexibility of linking the range of protection products offered with five investment-linked funds that include Uni Strategic Fund, Uni Aggressive Fund, Uni AsiaEquity Fund, Uni Income Fund and Uni Bond Fund. With comprehensive protection and the opportunity for attractive returns on investment, these options will no doubt provide our customers with peace of mind. The plans are also flexible as customers may choose to make their investment either by way of single payment or on a regular basis”.

Ooi Say Teng, Chief Executive Officer of Uni.Asia Life said, “The approximate net assets value of these funds currently stand at around RM100 million and they are being professionally managed by UOB-OSK Asset Management Sdn Bhd and Uni.Asia Life fund managers. To ensure the return on investment is at an acceptable level, countries and securities invested by the funds are subjected to a rigorous research exercise before they are included in the portfolio.”

Ooi added, “In our effort to make the funds more attractive, they are structured with an aim to meet the varying investment objectives and risk appetite of the customers.”

With everything in place, UOB Malaysia is expecting to receive favorable response from the market through its comprehensive branch network and its dedicated sales force. In addition to these, UOB Malaysia is also ensuring relevant staff are being trained and to obtain the necessary qualifications and skills for them to be able to provide financial planning advisory services to the Bank’s customers and assist them in making informed financial decisions.
