Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad on track to become a major player in the life assurance industry

PENANG: In line with the overall growth of the life assurance industry, Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad is on course of becoming a major player especially in the northern region with the official opening of its newly improved branch that signifies the new image the company now represents.
Speaking to the media at the official launching ceremony, Ooi Say Teng, the Chief Executive Officer of Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad said, “The launching of this newly improved branch outlook signalled our strong intention of becoming a company that is well known for both its customer service and business excellence. In the effort to achieve these objectives, we undertook aggressive efforts throughout 2004 in expending the business portfolio. As a result of these various initiatives and only after a few years following our major re-branding and re-positioning exercises, we have improved our position from number 15 to number nine in 2004 industry ranking.”
He added, “In view of this positive development, we have identified several strategies that will ensure the momentum will continue to pick up speed. Areas of focus would include aggressively and creatively market our existing and future products, provide the necessary resources to enhance internal capability and sales channel relationship. Special attention will be given towards creating an excellent customer service experience where professional conduct of the life assurance business becomes the order of the day to satisfy customers who are more discerning than ever.”
In view of this commitment to the customers, Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad made the decision to improve the outlook and provide the necessary facilities at the Penang branch. The focus was on improving the technology and automation of the processes. With the launching of this newly improved branch, customers of Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad can now expect to conduct their business transactions in a more comfortable atmosphere.
Ooi further added, “As part of the continuous efforts to increase the business portfolio, we have among others planned to open two more branches with similar concept. Due to the positive feedback that we have received, we will use this branch as a model branch in ensuring the consistency and representation of the new image that the company carries. This effort is consistent with our intention to increase substantially the number of Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad agencies”
Apart from this initiative, the company is also focusing on improving the products and services that they offer to policy holders. Among the most recent is the Investment Link insurance. In its efforts to be innovative and become one of the major players in the industry, Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad will be launching several new products and the concentration is on health and critical illnesses coverage. The decision to launch these products was made following the growing market demand for such innovative policies. In addition to this, Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad is also actively promoting its bancaasurance products and services through its business partners that are UOB Malaysia and EON Bank.
